Sure, when you hear “Folk-Pop,” you might not think those two words go together, but they do. Grit and Grace's music is sweeping, intimate and thoughtful, filled with high-level musicianship and beautiful vocal harmony. When asked why they like putting themselves in the Folk-Pop genre, Grit and Grace says “If it were possible we’d prefer no genre label at all because the music touches on many genres,. But that’s not practical. So calling our music Folk-Pop feels like it’s the most open-ended but still provides some insight as to what we're doing.”
Jess and Christopher have been working together as Grit and Grace since mid-2018 when Christopher first heard Jess singing behind the bar of a local venue. In this short time they have released a single on iTunes titled Museum that was featured in a USA TODAY playlist by the platinum-selling band Collective Soul. Grit and Grace also has music and live performance video on YouTube,
Grit and Grace’s belief is that music is a gateway to helping others. While writing great songs or giving a memorable performance is important, the best measure of success is when you are in a position to help others doing something that you love to do.
In 2020, Grit and Grace is resolved to succeed, to write great songs and give great performances, but also to give back through music therapy programs, benefit concerts or whatever ways to translate their successes into helping move people from a survival mode into a thrive mode.
